Planning, Operation, and Design of Market-Based Virtual Power Plant Considering Uncertainty

The power systems of today seem inseparable from clean energy sources such as wind turbines (WTs) and photovoltaics (PVs). However, due to their uncertain nature, operational challenges are expected when WT PV is added the electricity network. It necessary introduce new technologies compensate for intermittent nature renewable (RESs). Therefore, rationally implementing a demand response (DR) program with storage (ESSs) in virtual plant (VPP) environment recommended way forward minimize volatile RESs improve system reliability. Our proposed approach aims maximize social welfare (SW) (i.e., maximization consumer benefits while minimizing costs). method assesses impact DR on SW maximization. Two scenarios examined, one without program. Stochastic programming theory used address optimization problem. behavior WTs, PVs, load modeled using scenario-based approach. correctness demonstrated 16-bus UK generic distribution system. results show that active dispatch capacity WT, PV, ESS fairly increased
